Golden Turmeric Latte with Coconut Milk and Coconut Oil.
Ingredients
For the Turmeric Paste:
- 1/4 cup turmeric powder
- 3 tablespoons Mementa's Organic Coconut Oil
- Freshly ground black pepper
For the Latte:
- 2 cups Mementa's Organic Coconut Milk
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1-inch piece ginger, peeled and sliced into thin coins
- Honey, to taste (optional)
Directions
To Make the Turmeric Paste:
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the turmeric powder and 1 cup of water.
- Cook until the mixture thickens and forms a dry paste, about 2–3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and whisk in the Mementa's Organic Coconut Oil and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Set aside.
To Make the Latte:
- In a medium saucepan, combine the Mementa's Organic Coconut Milk, cinnamon stick, ginger, honey (if using), and 1 tablespoon of the turmeric paste. (Let the remaining turmeric paste cool completely, then store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.)
- Bring the mixture to a slow simmer over medium heat, allowing the ingredients to steep for about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat, strain, and serve immediately.
